As if I didn’t have enough to keep me occupied and, as it were, out of too much mischief, I’m doing yet another project, and relaunching the Book Blurb website. Yes, I know, that makes four (4) websites I’m writing for, along with this one. What can I say, I’m either a glutton for punishment or, I’ve found I need to read more this coming year and, as a result, blog more.
The thing is, it’s not going to be that much extra work that what I’ve already been committed to doing already. Given I am now housebound, and have been for almost 300 days … yes, THREE HUNDRED! And counting. But what 2020 has shown me is that I have the capacity to live quite comfortably in my head and, once ensconced there, get on without worrying too much about events and situations happening outside, and out of my sphere of control. And thus, am a more happier person for it.
Less worry, happy Alex. And that’s also thanks, in part, to the amazing online book community and blogging.
So now, along with committing to covering all things science fiction and fantasy over on at the Martian Chronicle (visit me there if you read SFF) and rambling on about crime fiction (with the occasional short story thrown in for good measure) at Alex in Murderland, I’ll be editor at large at Book Blurb hopefully coordinating a bunch of fellow book bloggers posting reviews of their fav genres.
If you are interested in following along you know the routine, click on the Follow button on any given blog and get updates when new posts go up. I would also like to extend an invitation to everyone who might be interested, to join me and my fellow book bloggers over on Book Blurb. If you would like to contribute a review, an article, a guest post, or write a semi-regular or even a regular column, let me know. You can find all the details and the email over on the Book Blurb website.
As this year draws to a close, I have a lot to be thankful for and yes, so much more to look forward to in 2021. I haven’t made a long list of New Year’s resolutions, I don’t normally do them. But what I am doing is making a promise to myself to do the following:
- Blog more
- Review more
- And lose some more weight
All are very obtainable goals should they be achieved, I mean, after all, given the year we’ve all already gone through, how hard can any one of these be? Well, okay, maybe the continued weight loss is going to be the hardest to stick to, but I’m committed.
What are you looking forward to, if anything, and will you be setting yourself any New Year’s resolutions tomorrow evening?
As always, stay safe, take care, and celebrate the coming New Year with hope.
All the best for 2021!
