Kicking back on the couch!

It’s a Bank Holiday Monday here, today. Believe it or not, it is, in fact, Queen Victoria’s birthday, which is still a holiday in Canada. Though here in Québec, they call it Patriot’s Day. Not that anyone cares what it’s called, another day off, is another day off, right? Unfortunately, it’s overcast, drizzling, and the shops are, generally, closed. So what do you do?

We’ve been kicking back on the couch binge-watching ESCAPE TO THE CHATEAU, in which an English couple have bought a 45 roomed chateau in the Loire valley, and are up to their eyeballs in debt trying to restore it. It’s fun watching Dick and Angel breathe new life back into this 150 year-old gorgeous building. And who wouldn’t want to buy this place, complete with it’s own moat!

Anyway, normal service will resume tomorrow, with a book review.

See you all then, au revior!

  1. Is it a reality show or totally fiction Alexandra? And enjoy your free day! But…are you working in a bank?

    • Alexandra says

I have no idea if this is a real couple doing this, or staged TV. But it seems genuine and besides, it’s been fun to watch. 😀

  2. I watched Marie Antoinette last night. I was so fascinated by her history especially the affair of the missing necklace that I stayed up watching documentaries on the case until the wee hours of the morning!

    Happy Tuesday, Alex!

Oh, you are in good company then. That’s what I do and then wonder why I’m tired the next day, Veronica! Ha! Ha!

  3. Oh, any bank holiday is welcome!
We have one on 27th May. I’m not even sure what that day is for, but as long as i get to not work, i’m happy 😀

    • Here in QC, we only get the one, but in Canada, they have 2 in May. Ours isn’t even for a religious holiday, but Queen Vic’s burpday. Go figure. And over there, at the end of May, isn’t that Whitsunday? Who knows.
