Day #68: Life in Toons

As I had an awful night last night, with little or no sleep due to cramping—I restarted taking ½ a cholesterol pill, as suggested by my doctor, after taking a break for 10 days, in which I had no cramps. But, alas, last night, on the third night of taking my statin … POW! as a Batman comic might say in a bubble above his head!

So today, I’m going to share some funnies with you.

There are a number of schools supposed to be opening here, today, the one next door to our complex is one of them scheduled yet, we’ve heard nothing in the way of kids playing outside. So don’t know if they did, or not. But I’m thinking it’s not going to be all that much fun for the kids if they can’t go outside and run around screaming, at break times.

I’m not sure how they’re going to work this, especially with kids under the age of 5. It’s like herding wild cats at the best of times, without the added bonus of trying to explain to little kids why they (a) can’t go outside or (b) cannot play together.

The other funny that was in our newsfeeds here, this morning, is this one, about the US opening up. It is pretty much self explanatory. A few MAGAs want everything open again, while sensible Americans and, in fact, anyone with half a brain cell, doesn’t!

Don’t be a MAGA, stay safe, stay home, and take care where ever you are in the world.

Love,
Alex

I would love to blame stress, too, Sophie, but I think it’s the statins I’m on. It’s a game of Russian roulette finding the right one that works with the least side effects. C’est la vie!

So sorry to hear that you had a bad night. Healthy sleep is so important! I hope you get some rest. Thanks for the cartoons. You make a well-taken point that it’s too soon to open up. When the time comes, it needs to be done slowly and carefully, step by step. My heart aches for those who have lost their jobs, but I agree we aren’t yet ready to open up.

Thank you, Margot. I was hoping that the half pill would be okay, especially as I had no problem for the first couple of nights. So it’s back to calling the doctor for advice!

You are so right, I really feel that we’re opening way too early, and in a rush, without much forethought given to the consequences. I know it’s really tough on those who have lost jobs and businesses, but isn’t the alternative, someone dying, worse?
