Book Haul Happiness

After reading the wonderful review of SALT TO THE SEA by Sophie, yesterday—who gave this one a whopping 6 STARS. I decided to go put this one on my to buy list, and, while at Chapters Indigo, saw that they were offering the hardback for just $6. I mean, come on. SIX BUCKS? So, of course, I ordered it

Along with two other books because, you know, one lone book doesn’t qualify for free shipping. So swooning over my wish list, came up with two other suitable titles. And now, I have three books on the way.

Oh boy, have I got some great books to read over the coming weeks. What with the four I still have on the coffee table, plus these, I think I’m set for a few weeks of decent reading. At least, that’s the plan. The Dark Lake and Resurrection Bay are both by Australian authors, who I’m on a roll with. And, given the last couple of Aussie authors I’ve read, have high hope for if for no other reason, than setting. Australia might as well be outer space, right?

Okay, joking aside, I need to go finish the last few pages of THE PHANTOM TREE so I can write my review for you all. Look out for that, tomorrow.

Oooh, this is great! I also have both Dark Lake and Resurrection Bay – didn’t realize this was Australian 😀
Curious to see what you think. I got it (Resurrection one) cuz it was free at one point on amazon…

Ha! See, if both of us thought they sounded great, then we must be onto a couple of winners then, Norrie. Well, that’s the plan, right? 😉

Hopefully, they’re as good as the blurbs, as they both sound really intriguing.

  2. Congrats on a fine haul! I’ve got the Septys book on my shelf ready to listen to after having finished her Between Shades of Gray (really extraordinary). Have a wonderful reading stint, Alexandra

I’m really expanding my reads into so many other genre and new authors, thanks to all the great recommendations I read on everyone’s blogs, Jonetta. Your’s included.

      It’s a fun adventure, that’s for sure.

Oh I am so happy Alexandra!!!!!! I don’t know how the “written” book will be but going by all the other people who loved it too there is a good chance that you’ll like it too (and now I am sweating!!!!). Happy reading 😉

Ha! Ha! No pressure, and no need to sweat either, Sophie. I’m sure this one will be a winner.

  4. I have Salt to the Sea on my Goodreads readlist! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts but I have high hopes we’ll both enjoy reading it. Only 6 $ is fantastic for such a novel.. happy reading Alexandra!

Maybe we should do a read-along.
