Behind The Blogger Book Tag

I’ve been tagged by culinary Queen Christina owner of the best Recipe and Review blog you’re likely to find anywhere, to spill the beans. But rest assured, no beans were harmed in the writing of this post—I promise.

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Answer all the questions below
  • Pingback the creator: Ellyn @ Allonsthornraxx
  • Nominate bloggers you’d like to know more about in this tag

And, of course, here are the questions:

#1. Why did you start blogging and why have you kept blogging?

I started blogging way back when I met this triceratops with one of the first Apple computers. You know, when they looked like a mini fridge and had a bar of soap as a mouse and everyone wanted one. Most recently I wanted to do a book blog, which I started back in 2017 and have been happily sharing my ‘opinionated’ thoughts about books every since.

#2. What is your favourite type of post to write?

Hmm I guess I would have to say reviews, especially when I get super excited about a book and want to let everyone else know how good it is. But I also enjoy doing Memes, for fun.

#3. What are your top three blog posts?

That would be these three:

Which is really strange, as none are reviews—my primary focus on the blog. But there you go, maybe I should drop the reviews and just be ‘opinionated’.

#4. What are your proudest blogging moments?

Eh, that I’m still blogging after two years, mostly due to the fact I have followers who stop by and read and comment on my posts.

#5. What are your hobbies outside of blogging?

That would be photography, bullet journalling some painting and drawing, and absorbing knowledge; I have an inquisitive mind.

#6. Describe your personality in three words.

I would say: inquisitive, quirky, and strong willed.

#7. What are your top three pet peeves?

That would be close-minded people, liars and those who spew hate. I don’t have time for any of them.

#8. What’s something that your followers don’t know about you?

Hmm, as a spy working for MI6 there’s not much I can disclose to you without first asking you to sign the Official Secrets Act, in blood, in triplicate, and then pinky swearing you won’t divulge the fact I lived in Singapore as a child.

So there you have it. Now let’s here from you. And remember, as with all tags, don’t feel obliged to participate, but if you want to join in, please do so!

Thanks, Jonetta, and yeah, I remember it well, as I lived there from 8 to 11, four years of madcap fun! 😀

  2. April 12, 2019

I’m going to now have to go and check out your 6 sci fi post 😀

Ha! Ha! This is how I draw you in, Lily! 😉 But seriously, I hope you find something you might want to read.

  3. April 12, 2019

Oooh so you paint and draw too? My my Alexandra we have even more in common than what I thought!

    • April 12, 2019

I guess we’re kindred spirits, Sophie, we both love to travel, read, and dabble in art as well. 😀

      • April 17, 2019

Ooo, painting is cool! Do you do watercolors? Or… (dunno other paint types really, haha, oil maybe a thing…)? 😀

I dabble more than do anything serious, Norrie. More impressionist when finished than say Turner or Constable! Ha! Ha! It’s just a fun hobby, like taking photos of everything. They’re hobbies that make you look at things more closely. 😀

  4. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Excuse the caps lock enthusiasm but this GOT ME. I am actually lol-ing right now. Loved the beans comment, this MI6 slayed me and the triceratops!!

We’re both quirky – I love that! Also, my “top posts” surprised me too, there was only one recipe and review and it’s one of my lesser favorites, weird! Also also totally with your pet peeves!

LOL! Glad to see you got a laugh out of my answers, Christina, just don’t tell M I spilled the beans OK. And yeah, we’re definitely both ‘quirky’. 😀

I thought I would have at least one review in the top 3 posts, but no, everything but. I guess that just goes to show we prefer to chat about books rather than dissect them.
